“This project is located in Morecambe, UK, on the site of the former Sunday market and its adjacent southern car park. Positioned within a coastal tourism zone near landmarks like the Winter Gardens and the future Eden Project, the site experiences strong seasonal fluctuation. The design is guided by the concept of Tidal Symbiosis, reflecting the city’s active summers and quieter winters.
The building is composed of four volumes arranged around a central courtyard, creating flexible zones. Movable walls can be opened or closed with the seasons, allowing for a more open layout and additional stalls in summer. The design also focuses on sustainability, using eco-friendly materials and climate-responsive strategies.”
