‘Pocket Market’ is a dynamic retail space designed to celebrate the act of gathering and exploration through the building’s linear thoroughfare. The project reimagines the traditional market typology through a series of curated ‘pockets’ that each serve a distinct social and functional purpose. The Creative’s Pocket involves the merchandising of artistic goods such as ceramics, decor and artworks (found in the exhibition space). The Fashion Pocket houses clothing, jewellery and accessories whilst the Nourish Pocket encourages pause, conversation and reflection.
At the heart of ‘Pocket Market’ is its central linear spine that connects Morecambe’s seafront view with its residential skyline, guiding movement to and from both entrances whilst allowing visitors to seamlessly weave between moments of rest and activity.
