This project proposes a lightweight, open-structured market complex situated between residential blocks in Morecambe. Combining fresh produce stalls, a second-hand book market, and a pottery workshop, the scheme creates a multi-functional hub for both locals and visitors. The design responds to the studio’s theme of “touching the ground lightly” through slender steel columns, translucent façades, and elevated circulation. A dynamic red projection billboard engages the street front, while a participatory double-layer rear façade invites the community to display local stories. This architecture serves not just as a marketplace, but as a flexible social infrastructure—supporting everyday life, exchange, and communication within the neighbourhood.
