As the final part of a wider health and wellness theme, the desire for this project project is to provide accessible medical care and support for those in need, amongst the local community. To fulfil this, a purpose-built healthcare clinic will be established on-site, designed as a walk-in centre that is inclusive and responsive to the needs of all members of the local community.
The building will be predominantly produced from sustainable materials, reconfirming the clients claims of building for a better tomorrow the exposed timber structure and natural finishes aim to move away from the sterile, clinical aesthetic often associated with traditional healthcare environments—spaces that, due to their frequent role in end-of-life care, can feel unwelcoming or emotionally heavy. By embracing a more contemporary and natural design language, the project aspires to foster a warmer, more inviting atmosphere that encourages individuals to seek care without hesitation.
This connection to nature will be further enhanced through generous use of glazing, maximizing the buildings access to natural daylighting. In addition, the design includes a spacious, semi-private clinic garden—an outdoor area intended to promote wellness and provide patients and staff with opportunities to spend time in a fresh, calming environment.
