This project is located in the small town of Mulazzo, situated in the Lunigiana region of Tuscany, Italy. The site includes a dilapidated masonry house, the adjacent piazza and its cellars, as well as part of the slope that descends toward the main road. The aim is to redevelop the house into a heritage visitor centre that showcases the rich cultural history of Mulazzo and the surrounding area. In addition, the project will establish a new urban connection by creating an accessible route from the base of the slope to the building, providing an accessible route into the heart of the town.

Olive harvesting and olive oil production are central to the cultural, agricultural, and culinary identity of Mulazzo and the region. These traditions and techniques have been passed down through generations. The visitor centre will celebrate this legacy by offering an immersive experience that educates and engages visitors in the history and practices of local olive farming. The project also seeks to promote sustainable tourism, support local farmers and artisans, and help preserve traditional methods for future generations.
