Jamestown Gardens is a multidisciplinary centre for botanical research, artistic expression, and public education, set in the heart of historic Jamestown, Accra. Housed within the preserved façade of the former Kingsway Store, the project integrates a sealed laboratory, herbarium, exhibition space, lecture facilities, and accommodation for resident scientists and artists.
Positioned between Ussher Fort and the Jamestown Café, the site forms a vital link in the cultural and historic fabric of the city. By retaining key architectural elements, the project anchors itself in local heritage while contributing to urban regeneration and cultural revitalisation.

Jamestown Gardens celebrates Ghana’s diverse plant life and promotes collaboration across science and the arts. Designed as an inclusive, community-oriented space, it will offer open gardens, exhibitions, and learning opportunities creating a vibrant platform where innovation, tradition, and identity converge.
