Gusto & Green is an adaptive re-use project that aims to preserve the remains of a dilapidated Italian home, while transforming it into a vibrant new visitor experience. To achieve this, a new structure with vernacular materials will be inserted within the original building. Alongside the more traditional visitor centre displays off the local area, the building will also immerse guests in traditional Tuscan culinary culture, offering hands-on cooking experiences that celebrate Italy’s rich culinary heritage. A sustainable kitchen garden and will provide fresh, seasonal ingredients. Drawing inspiration from Mulazzo’s historical ties to Dante Alighieri, the individuality of the interior will reference the theme of gluttony from ‘The Divine Comedy.’
